- Apologies for the double comment, but I may have found a solution. Well, when I say solution - I mean it'll cost £14 instead of £50. The basic premise is that according to UK law, goods worth under £15 aren't eligible for VAT import duty. This controller ships from the US and comes with a classic controller to USB adapter that is reported to work with Wii guitars (according to comments on.
- This adapter brings high quality modern Nintendo controllers to your PC. The Classic controller has plenty of buttons and axes making it an excellent option for a wide variety of games. Wiitars are also supported and with its very low latency, this is the adapter of choice for use with Clone Hero. This adapter is built using advXarch technology.
Recently purchased this Wii controller to USB adapter from Raphnet, and so far it's working wonderfully for converting my Wiitar to a wired guitar. Feels way more responsive than a Wiimote + BT, and the adapter is supposed to have a minimum latency of 2ms.

Raphnet V3
Raphnet Wii Adapter V3 Controller
Long before the Gamecube controller to wiiu adapter came out I had an older adapter made by Raphnet and it was pretty damn good.
Now he's got a much improved version out. I haven't tried it myself, but I notice it says it supports direct controller access, which is a feature of his new N64 to usb adapter as well.
For the N64 controller adapter he has his own input plugin for n64 emulators to get the game and controller to interact directly. Even crazier, it supports almost all N64 peripherals that use the controller or the controller port, like the Hey You Pikachu voice unit, the transfer pak, et al.
I did email him and ask him if the gamecube adapter could do this with Dolphin through its support for the Wiiu adapter and he answered that it didn't. The direct access functionality is there but it doesn't work like the Wiiu adapter. He did say he was considering addressing this either by contributing support to Dolphin himself or giving it the ability to act like the wiiu adapter. But I was wondering what you all or the developers thought of this. If it works like the direct access on n64, could an adapter like this allow Dolphin to use more of the gamecube's peripherals physically? physical GBA-to-GC support in particular sounds exciting.
